Who We Are AnchorPoint Prison Ministry exists to shine the light of Jesus Christ in a dark place; a prison located in Charlotte, North Carolina called (appropriately) Charlotte Correctional Center. We do this by providing for a full-time chaplain to serve both the inmate population and staff. Reverend Tom Burger has served in that capacity since March of 1997. But AnchorPoint is much more than just one man. To be effective it has to be.
| AnchorPoint Prison Ministry is made up of men and women from a wide varity of church and community backgrounds coming together to lift up the Lord Jesus in prison. It's everyone who comes out to teach a Bible study, lead a worship service, mentor, tutor, or to serve in any capacity. It's Sunday school classes and youth groups who come together to provide Christmas gifts for inmates' children. It's moms and dads willing to come and share their perspectives and experiences to help inmates to be better fathers to their children. It's believers coming together for a common cause, who humbly prefer one another, and who's only concern is that Jesus Christ have the preeminence in all we do. AnchorPoint is a work commissioned by Jesus Himself: "... I was in prison and you came to Me." (Matthew 25:36)
